SGH-6 Shotgun microphone capsule
This microphone capsule is used with ZOOM's H5 or H6 field recorder. The difference of this microphone compared to the microphones that are supplied as standard is the range. The SGH-6 can also record sound from a further distance due to its supercardioid directional characteristic.
Application
Because this microphone mainly picks up the sound from the front and not from the side or behind it, it can be used well for film, theater, TV and reporting (ENG Electronic News Gathering). This is often used if one does not want to have the microphone in the picture during an interview. The field recorder is then often mounted on the camera and with a shotgun microphone you can still record good quality sound.The microphone is also mono compatible, which means that it has the ability to record in stereo, but can be broadcast in mono, such as TV broadcasts.
