Built-In Preamplifier. Rooted in Tradition - The SM7dB is a dynamic vocal microphone with a built-in preamplifier that delivers up to +28dB of flat, transparent gain with low noise: perfect for nearly any interface and simplified audio setups.

How Does It Work?

The SM7dB features a built-in preamplifier designed by Shure, providing it with enough power to work with any XLR interface. The preamplifier offers up to +28 dB of gain while maintaining the microphone's frequency response for that iconic sound. You only need an interface or mixer with +48V phantom power to use the preamplifier. No preamplifier needed? Set the switch on the left to 'bypass' for the original SM7B performance.
