The SR-M3 from Saramonic is a compact condenser directional microphone. Place the SR-M3 on the hot shoe of your camera and then insert the 3.5mm plug into the camera. Then the SR-M3 ensures that you record the general ambient sound in high quality. Making noiseless outdoor recordings is possible with the windscreen (included). In addition to a hot shoe connector, there is also a 1/4 ”female screw thread at the bottom.

Application
You can place the SR-M3 on your camera and use it to capture ambient sound. This is a directional microphone, so that (voice) sound from a few meters away is still audible. In addition, it is possible to connect a second microphone with a 3.5mm male cable to the SR-M3. This ensures that the sound from both the SR-M3 and the second microphone is recorded by the camera. With the 3.5mm headphone jack you can listen to the sound in real time. Using the built-in knobs you can switch a low-cut filter on and off and also apply a + 10db gain to amplify the sound.
